I know nothing of the 05's & o6 models, but my 04 model Patriot had the wrong pivots and it caused my bow to gain 5# over the correct pivots.

All I'm saying is unless things are very different than an 04 Patriot, placing taller pivots in the limb pockets will increase your draw weight with the limb bolts maxed out.
They made my 60# limbs pull 64# (fact) & my 70 # limbs pull ~77# if memory serves correctly.

That is correct, my bow needs more "power". As it stands now, it is only working at 70% power with it dialed all the way up. I need the correct pivot thickness/extra draw weight and 6 twists on string, so this bow will meet the factory specs. You say 4 pounds more...well guess what??? 4 pounds more equals 12 fps more and that is exactly how much I am below factory specs.

I think I know what happened...the local shop ordered me a 31 inch draw length bow. They received a 30 inch draw, threw on the 31 cam modsand didn't tune or change a thing. Basically I have been shooting a bow set-up for a 30 inch draw bow, but one that has 31 cams installed. I will get this worked out through BowTech and report the true chrono results at a later date. The local shop is reallynot paying attention to thedetails, so I will get as much as I can done directly through BowTech.

Good luck with your bow MilDotMaster. Thanks for the post as well. Doesn't hurt to go against the grain once in awhile. You sometimes find thosehigh orroughspots that need to be planed out.

Hope things are resolved quickly. I would hate for you to lose any shooting time.

I know I hate when I can't shoot!! Did I mention I am hooked?

Great, informative post.

I can vouch for a very similar thought process at my local shop; I replaced my old string on the ol' MQ-1 as she's about to be retired. The tech working there didn't back the limb bolts off at all before throwing it in the press (Mathew recommends backing them off five full turns before pressing), had no idea about the two little holes on the cam and how that related to making sure the cam was in proper adjustment, and never checked the axle-to-axle length or brace height to see if we were in spec after changing the string.

When I questioned him about it, I got the usual response about solo cams not needing tuning... []
