I shot both the '05 Switchback and the XT and I while the XT seemed
to me a little more dead in the hand, I bought the '05 Switchback. I liked
it being a little longer axle to axleand I believe it is a little faster than the
XT. It is averaging 287 fps at 70# with a 29" draw shooting Vapor 4000
carbon arrows with a 100 grain tip.

XT is dead in the hands, smooth drawing, and plenty fast. Tribute is over rated, it is dead in the hand but is no where near as smooth when drawing, I hate the rollover on those cams. It is fast, no doubt about that. Tykron was even worse to me, jumps a lot, harsh draw, but fast.

I went to the shop today and shot the Switchback XT and the Trykon. In my opinion, they both were equal. The Trykon cost more, but it is faster. I ended up getting the Trykon due to the fact that the XT had some hand shock, but not a lot. I shot both bows in ready to hunt condition with all the attachments on, including stabilizers. The Trykon had less hand shock than the XT. However, this is only my opinion and they are both excellent bows.

I still don't understand the comparison between the Trykon & XT. I know they are both new models, but spec wise the regular Switchback is the bow that should be compared to the Trykon IMO.
They are both 33" ata & 7" brace each.

A friend of a friend recently went bow shopping with an open mind (out of archery for 10 years) and compared the Trykon to the XT to the Tribute.
He wound up buying the trykon butI beleive the Mathews/ Bowtech dealer might have lost a sale because he never had him shoot the regualr SB for comparison sake knowing the Trykon at the other shop was the bow he was also considering. Maybe it was because he had some 12+ XT's on the wall and only 2 regular SB's?

The switchback xt has a 7 1/2 inch brace hight. The trykon has
a 7 inch brace height! The switchback LD has a 9 inch brace height.
The point is the Mathew's bows should be a little more forgiving.
Particularly the LD!

Switchback=7"
Switchback XT= 7 1/2"
Switchback LD= 9"

I agree the LD should be very forgiving, but with a 295 ibo??

I've got a bow with an 8" brace and yes it is very forgiving, but I could race the arrows to the target.

One things for sure, you won't be getting your sleeve caught up in the string.

The difference in the speed's of the switchback and the LD
is only 20fps.That is just estimate any way.I doubt you can run
at 295 fps!The high country I have Know is shooting a 520gr
arrow at 252fps.I am going to a 450gr arrow with this new
bow.Should still be faster than old one!You could not get out of the way of my old one!!
