Default slick trick bh - noise?

I just shot the ST broadhead and I noticed that the arrow is making more noise than the muzzy. Does anyone noticed this too or is it just my set up? I am shooting both heads on the same arrow for comparison.

Sorry... double post.

I hear a little hiss, but nothing like a montec g5 or snuffer.

You might want to check the continuity of the lands and the blade sharpening consistency. You'll want to use a loop and compare one blade to the other to check for these inconsistencies.

If the inconsistencies exist, it may just be enough to cause the problems you're having.

Yeah, it's the hiss that I hear. I'm worry that at 30 yards, elk/deer might jump the arrow.

Len, I'm not sure if fully understand, but the BH are brand new.

It doesn't matter if it's brand new or not. The blade sharpening is not uniform from the factory. The amount of 'cut' on each blade can vary and leave less material on one blade verses another.

Also, it's been a fact for manyyears that open blade designs, if not done a certain way, will cause 'noise' during flight.

Exactly. Most open bladed broadheads make a hissing noise. Just some make more than others. I would worry more about making your bow quiet than your broadheads making noise.

PS - My Slick Tricks make a louder hissing noise than the WASP Sharpshooters I also use. I would ask the two doe I shot if they heard the hissing noise but I don't think I would get a response.

G2, that's funny stuff.

I noticed once put together some of the blades have some slack in them which allows them to rattle slightly while on the arrow even though the head is very tight. I will change those loose blades out before my next hunt- I don't need any extra noise thatcan be alleviated.

So far I've killed 4 animals with Slick tricks & am very happy with the results.
