Fletch damage
Do you think small nicks or tears in a plastic fletch is anything to worry about?
I'm not seeing any major flight changes in the arrow but the anal retentive side of me gets bothered slightly by any damage to the fletch.
What's your feeling on this?
I really need to invest in a fletching jig. That way I can have fresh fletchings by-weekly! hehe. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Fletch damage
According on the size of the damage that you reported which seems to me very minor I personally dont think this is going to cause much of a flight pattern problem what so ever, but what i would do for this one if you plan on heading to the woods is save this one if you need a second shot. Or what I prefer doing is putting a small game tip on it and use it as a small game/coyote/fox/squirrell arrow. Lol works great for me. or if yo uhave the time remove the fletch and replace it.

927,
A little bit of fletching damage doesn't hurt flight that much. I usually will continue to shoot an arrow with a some damage until it wobbles too much going down range. Having a fletching jig will allow you to just replace the damaged vanes or feathers that you need to. I will set aside the damaged ones until I have a number of to repair all at the same time.

I have the same thing, but haven't noticed much deviation in arrow flight. My fletchings are also getting loose around the arrow. I have graphite Gold Tips and wondered if you can treat them just like carbons and use the same glue. I was thinking of just using some super glue to see how that worked.
