rocky mt turbos VS slick tricks
i have read on both these heads on this forum and i know the turbo had a very high score on the broadhead test. has anyone shot deer with both these heads? If i were looking at the cutting diameter i would by the turbos? just looking for someone who has shot both and what they think?

RE: rocky mt turbos VS slick tricks
this a serious question. i here people saying a huge 4 blade hole with the st, but it only has a 1'' cd but the turbo has a 1 1/8 onlyA 16th smaller than the thunderhead 100. so what is the difference? i understand the st has 4 blades but if u stick it in something all it is going to be is an inch hole and the same with the turbo. i have read all the past on the slick tricks on this forum. Also what kind of blood trails with the st?
thanks

Actually the 100 and 125 grain slick tricks have a 1 &1/8" cutting diameter, only the 85 grain uses a 1" cutting diameter

Actually you can get either the 1" blades or the 1 1/8 inch blades. Garry is now making them in the "magnum" size which is the 1 1/8 cut and has been making all along. He is also making a "standard" head which uses 1" blades. You can use either one in the 100 and 125 grain furrels.
The difference is that the turbo has three blades and the ST has four blades. The four blades cut more tissue and make a bigger hole going through the animal.
A 1" diameter four blade will cut the same amount of tissue as a 1-3/8" diameter three blade head. To equal the amount of tissue cut by a 1-1/8" four blade head you would need a three blade head to have a cutting diameter of 1.5 inches.
I have not used the turbos ao I can't comment on how well they perform. All I can tell you is that the ST's do everything that is advertised. I am sure that the turbo is an exceptional head I just have not used it.
