RE: Knife Sharpening
Buck 110 Folding Hunter? Great knife. I've had mine for many seasons.
Those Buck blades can be a bear to sharpen, but they hold an edge well. I invested in a Lansky shapener...you can put an edge on a butter knife in no time at all. I use a 20 degree angle if that helps. If I were you I would buy any one of the sharpening kits on the market....they work great and you can sharpen anything with a blade with them.
You can do it the old fashioned way, but it will a while and it really is an acquired skill to get a blade like a razor.
Some brands to look into:
Lansky
Gatco
Smith's

RE: Knife Sharpening
Just my .02...stay with the Laskey. I have had mine for 20+ years but the plastic ends on the holders broke (that tighten onto the rod). So I bought a Smith's. Stones seem softer and are worn down within a year more then the Laskey after 20 years. I took the Smith stones off and epoxied the Laskeys on so am still using the original stones.
