Hoyt Cybertec XT 2000 - need opinion.
Hi,
I bought this bow used from a reputable archery shop and need opinions on it. I went to the shop yesterday looking to do some research for my fall purchase but ended up buying a bowright there and then anyway. I know, buying a bowthen asking about it afterwards is backwards but this bow just seemed to have the look, feel, andquality I was after. Besides that, the guys there were very helpful and did not pressure me to buy all the while paying 100% attention to me.
Anyway, they told me the bow was a 2002 model and was one of Hoyt's top performing bows at the time. I wanted a bow that was easy to draw, fast shooting, quiet, and compact in size. The following specs is something I copy pasted off the net.
Reflex: 1 1/2"
Axle- Axle: 35.5"
Brace height: 6 5/8"
Draw Weight (H): 40-80 #
Draw Weight (T): 30-70 #
Mass Weight: 3 lb 15 oz
Practice shots I made were crisp, clean, and wisper quiet. Arrow speed was 255 fps with a 300 (total weight) grain arrow on a 27 inch draw at 55lbs. Does this type of performance seem to fall in line with the bow's capabilities at the specs I listed? Also, the bow features Hoyt's cam and a half design. Is this a good thing and why? Price was 375 and came with a cobra sight, rest, and quiver.Bow set-up as in peep sightadjustment, draw weight, and drawlength fitting are included in the purchase. All opinions good and bad are desired. Thanks.

I shot one around that time and absolutely loved it. I still wish I could get one. A cybertec pre cam and a half. I thought it was one of the best bows I have shot, including the newer ones.
Just my opinion though.

I shoot a 2003 Cybertec w/ the Cam & 1/2. I have thought about buying a new Hoyt, but I just don't think that I would shoot it any better than I do the Cyber. It is by far the best bow that I have ever owned and I have owned many over the last 17 years.

I have a 03 cyber Cam-n-1/2 and I love it. Quiet, consistent, and fast. I wouldnt shoot another bow. I think I paid 650 + the cost of all the accessories. If the bow is in good shape(never dry fired) I think you found a good deal.
