I just starting using the Beman Max-4 arrows this year and I've had a problem finding tips that go in easily, both field and broadheads. I tried my Crimson Talons from last year as well as some WASP broadheads and I had to force them in just to get the threads to take. Same problem with field tips. The only ones that go in easy are some cheap ones from Wal-Mart, but the outside diameter is bigger than the shaft itself making it tough to pull out of my target. Is this normal or did I get a bad batch of arrows?

Its the glue on the threads of the HIT inserts. Whoever glued them in most likely didn't do a good job of getting the excess glue off. As far as field tips, buy some 17/64 field tips in your grain weight. Also, the diameter of the shafts will be smaller than most broadhead ferrules.
