Default Lone Wolf hand climber question

Hey all,
I just picked up the Lone wolf hand climber combo, and had a question about how everyone else uses the climber. I found it much easier / faster / safer feeling, using the hand climber above my head. I push the climber portion up as high as I can reach and hang from it as I pull the base up w/ my legs. It seems like I can get a much longer throw each time, and I can control the placement much better this way. Anyone climb this way? The instructions that come with the stand show the guy all hunched over leaning his upper body on the climber portion. I didn’t feel comfortable doing it this way. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Did Lone Wolf ever resolve the issues it may have had with its strap system? I heard a rumor that several stands had failed.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but I'm considering buying one of these. What's your impression of it njswampman?

I know the belts were at one time black, now they are clear. The belt itself seems to be very tough. I hope if therewas a problem it hasbeen resolved. it would suck togo dirt diving. I have hunted for the past 9-10 years from a loc-on limit, the platform on that stand is about the size of a sheet of paper, but it was very very light . So far I found the lone wolf to beVERY quiet and very stable and confortable. I can get upa tree to about 20' in like 2 min. It is however just about double the weight of the stand that I have carried previously. My plan is to loose about 10 pounds of my gut, before the season and it should be a wash.

I have one of the older Lone Wolf climbers and converted to the Alpha system. I use it the same as you do njswampman. IMO it is much easier to use this way, and I think you can control the platform better. I have been using this stand for the past five years and have never had a problem. If they are or were having a problem it is being kept very quiet. There are no recalls on this stand that I am aware of. [8D]

Strap problem? Never heard of it. Don't worry about the belts. I use my Lone Wolf climber hard and a lot each season. Mine still look like new after all the abuse I give it.
