Hoyt Ultrasport. Parker makes a few good mid priced bows as well. There are actually quite a few good bows out for around 400-500 dollars. Check PSE, Darton, Reflex, Bowtech, Diamond, Hoyt, Martin and some others.

I have the Hoyt Ultra Mag and love it. Moderately priced, great shooting. Reflex also makes several that are reasonably priced.

I was at a bow shop last night and fondled a few new bows and one that cought my eye and felt good in my hand was surpisingly a Reflex Superslam.

I didn't shoot it, but it had a nice draw and feel to it.

I would start by checking out the Diamond line but there are really alot of nice mid priced bows out there and I would encourage you to try them all.

Diamond
Reflex
Parker
Fred Bear (Buckmasters)
Ben Pearson
PSE

Also Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops have there own line that are manufactured by some of the name brand companys. I have no experience w/ any of their bows but I would leave no rock unturned when trying out new bows.
