need some help with my dog
I have a pure bred lab that is around 2 yrs old. We have had him hunting since he was around 6 mnths old. In the beginning he worked well. Now he just sticks close to us and he won't even point. His little sister even hunts better than him. What should I do? Am i expecting too much of him?

1) With a very few exceptions Labs are not pointers.
2) If he's sticking too close to you, AND his sister is also with you, quit hunting him with the other dog until he gets some confidence and starts to venture out.

What training program (book/tape) have you used as your training guide?
To me, it sounds like you are expecting your dog to "do it all": without any formal training [
