Default RE: To WVVET

Little to No chance. Sorry. Rat poison inhibits Vitamin K in the dog's body. Vitamin K is necessary in order for the blood to clot. Therefore dogs affected with rat poison will start to bleed. You could see blood in the urine, feces, nasal bleeding, etc. The dog may also bleed internally in which you may not see any bleeding at all. However in each case the dog will become weaker and weaker as he becomes more anemic. His mucous membranes (gums) will become very pale to white in color. If a large enough dose is injested, rat poison can be quite fatal. It is treated by simply adding oral vitamin K supplementation.

Your dog isn't showing these symptoms.

Someone also meantion coonhound paralysis. Again this is unlikely since coonhound paralyis does exactly what is sounds.....it causes paralysis. Swollen joints isn't a symptom of this disease.
