Default Old dog new tricks?

I have two labs. One 2 1/2 and one 1 1/2. They have been house pets to this point. I am a rookie to bird hunting (been a few times, different game)butvery interested in the sport. Iwould like to get my dogs into it also. Are they too old? Can anyone suggest some good trainers in Ft Worth or some tips? (for me and the dogs!) Both come from a line of field hunters.

Upland or waterfowl? Sorry, don't know much about labs or flushing dogs. I do know of a trainer in Waco, TX, Keith Hickem but I think he's still in ND training a summer camp with Gleber. Contact him at http://bootleatherllew.com/index.html

He's a pretty easy going guy, and could probably steer you a good lab trainer and give you some advice.

I know jonesy & doc here also trains labs. Bothfrequent these boards.

Mostly upland. Never hunted waterfowl but looking forward to getting out there.

Thanks for the info and the link. I will check it out. Waco isn't to far.

Check out DFWHRA or Cowtown Hunter Retriever Club.
