southern Buck, sounds like your beagle didnt understand what you wanted her to do when you were making a correction with the shock collar. She probably ran cause she was scared and confused. Its important that you train without a shock collar first, then use the collar for reinforcing the command.

As far as humping goes well lots of Female dogs exhibit this behavior, they do it for several reasons including displaying dominance and probably most likely in a female dogs case, a form of bonding. Kinda like a hug.

Sometimes it seems like dogs are "retarded", but really its all about understanding there behaviors, habits, abilities and what they are capable of understanding.

Maybe you should research dog training and behavior before you get your next "retarded" dog
