I hunt south of Fayetteville and saw a fresh scrape on Sunday, I've seen lots of does when I'm going to work in the mornings. The wife saw a 6 point run across the road on Monday at 8:30am.
Looks like a great opening day for us.

Been up since 2:00 am. wondering the same thing.....
From what I saw 2 weeks ago, I'd say it will be on soon...
Will let you know Saturday morning when we meet back at the camp.
Talked to Rocky sounds like he's ready to leave today!!!!!
He must have seen the video of that big buck in his food plot....

I need to know the same thing...What are the deer doing down south??????
I've been about to go crazy thinking about Saturday.
I am going to hunt around Bearden this weekend and I'm curious to know what I should expect. I hope to see some bucks moving...but with this Arkansas weather, who knows?

Did any of you guys have any luck on opening weekend? I saw three young bucks and two doe but nothing with any size. I was lucky enough to get a 6 point yesterday afternoon in the rain. Not a very big rack but a huge deer. He was definetly rutting....smelled to high heaven and his tarsal glands were black. A guy who hunts with us got a real nice 8-point but his buck didn't show any sign of being on the hunt for love.
Looks like the rain and warmer temps may be a factor for the rest of this week and through the weekend. Good luck and be careful out there.
Forgot to mention, I hunt around El Dorado.

My son got a 7 pt sat morning that aged out at 5 1/2. he was a good deer. i had a good one right at me but the thing wouldnt give me a shot cause i didnt get my lanes trimmed good enough.
my club killed 5 on sat. one 8 pt that also was 5 1/2 that was good. the others were younger.
sunday they went flat and i didnt see a thing but i saw alot of sign. maybe the wannabee rush is about over and i can get to hunting. i'm off all next week and heading that way.

Sounds like ya'll had a good weekend! My boss killed a big 10 point over in the eastern part of Union County close to the river. The buck didn't have very long tines but he was sporting a 21 1/2 inch inside spread. We don't see too many like that in this neck of the woods. Hopefully, that deer's brother will mosey on over my way.
