I know that you have to be with someone from the military to hunt there. I also know that you have to call in the day before or the day of your hunt to see what areas have been closed off. I looked into hunting out there, but it was too much of a pain in the butt for me.

Yep--got to have a sponsor, and it's a pain. A few of us went a couple of years ago--only saw a few hogs, didn't get any shots, and found out after the fact (because the info. line was down) that the area we were hunting was supposed to be closed anyway. Won't bother going back, unless I hear of some big changes.

Isnt there a WMA close to the base? (hatahachee or something like that?) Seems like I hunted there a few times about 15 years ago or so.

There's the Eufaula Wildlife Refuge on the Alabama side of the river (Chattahoochie). There are alot of big deer & alot of gators. The deer rut in November, like Georgia deer.
