need lots of help (with deer hunting too)
I've got pictures of a MONSTER buck with a trail camera I bought this year. The place i hunt is 400 acres or so, has a swamp, two been fields, and lots of thick cover. The buck is using an oak flat that is about the size of a foot ball field with a 10 year old pine thicket on one side and the swamp on the other. There is a hot trail that runs with the swamp and goes for about 700 yards into a really really thick cut over. I only have photos of him at midnight and only have got photos of him on two different days in about a 3 week period. Do you think he would travel the 700 yards to the thick cover or is bedding closer to the oak flat? Do you think he is crossing the swamp to get out of dodge? I have been hunting the oak flat hard since I have got the pictures and havn't seen many deer there. Anywhere along the trail or oak flat i only have MAYBE a 50 to 60 yard shot at max. Oh yea, I have found some beds along the back side of the oak flat close to the swamp but haven't jumped any deer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any guesses on what he will score throw those in there too please.
