WOW!! huntnma ..I had that expereince with a palm and cypress but never a pine..The pines do have loud barks though ..The cypress are nice and quiet...but I haveto be careful to tie the bungy around my seat back or it will fall. The Summit comes with an attached bungy to hold your back cushion to the tree..this also helps alot in keeping the top part of the climber from falling when you stand on the platform.
1.My favorite trees are oaks..They usually have branches to help conceal you..
2.my next favorites are pines..they go straight up in Florida..
3.next are the cypress but I haveto go illegal and use a screw step to get into my climber..
4.I don't use palms much..

Amen...I love mine too..I wouldn't mind getting one more..the Goliath. What concerns me mostly about the water filled palms..is my weight .I'm presently in the 280s. BUT with your word Huntnma..I plan to try some Palms out.

you get good bites on palms BUT you can't tell they are rotten until you're up in them and they crash down with youAND coral snakes love to hang out in the tops of them and eat insects. i speak from experience on both of these.
