RE: Saturday
Well here in NC is was "COLD"...26 degrees when I got in my stand. I sat there about 10 minutes two Does wandered by. I held off being so early. We are seriously over run with deer on this farm and the land owner has asked us to shoot as many as we can(Legally) what we do not eat we made arrangements to donate to "Hunters for the Hungry". Any way 30 minutes in 2 more Does travelling. Shot one of those. Large mature Doe. She went 5 steps and down. It is now 7:30 so I decided to sit for a bit longer then from left at 70 yards was another large Doe browsing while wading in about 10" of standing water. On round through the neck secured that Venison. I though now what...I have 2 deer down and the work will begin.... I should have let the 2nd one get out of the pond as wading in 30 degree temp was rough....I have never seen so much fat on any deer! So it was a great Saturday....
