This is just an idea. If you do and you have Kazaa or Morpheus, try putting them on there. If we could get a few guys putting some predator calls on there, then we wouldn't have to spend $25 for more CD's. We could just download them from there and and have an assortment of Cds. What do you all think? I use both Kazaa and Morpheus even though Kazaa is much better and easier to use. I've already checked to see if there were any calls on there but so far haven't found any.

And if anybody needs instruction on how to put them on there just let me know, because it isn't very hard.

You could say the same thing about nearly every other music album out there. And are they still producing music today... Yes! If you're against Kazaa, Morpheus and other types of sites like that, then it's obviously not for you. You must not have ever owned a single burned Cd i'm guessing.

kshunter,
you don't get it do you?
Just because it is being done dosn't make it right!
Now what do you do for a living?

Consider the following example:
John is in the Predator call business selling his calling CD's to make a living for himself and his family.
kshunter is in the grocery store business in the same city and block as John.
John shops at kshunter's store every week and pays for his purchases with the money he earns from selling his CD's.
kshunter copies Johns CD's for himself and no rolities go to John.
Eventually John has no income as everyone is copying his CD's.
John cannot pay his grocery bill!
Does kshunter give John food since John can no longer pay?
Why not kshunter took away John's ability to pay when he did not buy John's CD's

This example was "borrowed" from one describing Music in the exact same context.

kshunter if you are copying someones copywritten work and get caught(Yes I know it dosn't happen often but it does) the crime is finable and also carries the possibility of jail time depending on the size of the violation.
ASCAP and BMI are also going after the 2 Pier-pier networks you named just like they went after Napster!

Amosgreg, theoretically your right, but in reality your wrong, here's why, just from your example...

Eventually John has no income as everyone is copying his CD's.

Everyone is a big word, in reality the vast majority wouldn't ever copy his CD, just a small percentage. Especially with a predator CD, like this, which the type of people who would want it, would not burn it because they they don't have the knowledge or capabitlities to do so.

If we're talking about the same reality set as your example then how about this one, which is a closer to reality than yours.

John is the owner of Jonny Stewart Company.
He makes calls, accessories, players, and a large variety of predator hunting stuff. And makes a great amount of money from it.
Dave down the road, tries to make ends meet with a small amount of land to farm but also is a professional trapper and furharvester, and that is his main income.
With fur prices low as they are he puts in as little money as he can it in because he doesn't have any to spend, so he ask his buddy to burn some CDs for him. Dave saves $100 in money he didn't have so he wouldn't be bankrupt while John down the road isn't hurting one bit because he has money coming in from all sorts of products rather than just his CD calling tapes. He actually is having more money come in from his calling players because people are buying now buying them because they are able to save money on CD's and spend towards a player.

Yes, ASCAP and BMI are trying to crack down on these sites, just like they have been trying to do for a long, but if you think they're fine every person that uses the site, all you're doing is misleading people. The people who will get in trouble are the people in charge or the sites, not the users.

If you're against these sites, thats cool, it's just not for you then. If you want to discuss this further take it to PC Tech forum, it's been discussed there before, and will have more responses, otherwise lets keep this on topic. I gotta get back to class. LOL..

Now here is an interesting concept....
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
Dave saves $100 in money he didn't have so he wouldn't be bankrupt while John down the road isn't hurting one bit because he has money coming in from all sorts of products rather than just his CD calling tapes. "John has money coming in from all sorts of products" I guess that makes it right since in your view the copying of a CD isn't going to affect him one bit

And your last quote speaks volumes as to having tried to make a living in the real world of publishing of any sort.

Copyright infringement at any level is a crime and just because you don't see anything being done to the "little guy/user" dosn't make it not doen. 14 years ago ASCAP made the landmark cases of copyright infringment against several different type of companies and individuals to serve as benchmark cases. I am sure if you(or me although I am not going to take the time) dug through the evidance against Napster these cases would be referenced by the prosecution in their complaint.

Copying a CD except if your already own the work is Ilegal.

Some interesting points. BowNC, sorry i must of missed your question. It would depend if I was making enough money for it to be worth my time. Because there isn't any way sales would go to normal to none, like you guys are trying to make it seem, but a small decrease, in the one area.

Would you care to elaborate on that a little further?.. [email protected] is my email
