Anyone heard anything about the Rossi Matched pair? It's a .22LR that quick-changes to a 12 ga. Talk about versatility. And it's only like $150. I've been thinking about picking one up.

Don't make this mistake. I'd strongly recommend going with either a marlin with their micro grooves (I use a model 780 bolt) or a savage with their accu-trigger (which I hear is the best thing since smokeless powder).

i have a savage mark 11 .22 i bought 3 yrs ago for about 100 dollars it is a bolt action and comes with a 10 round clip and scope. but if you want to make it accurate you just go and buy a bsa 3-7-20. you can also buy more clips for about 16.00 i can pop small animals in the head at 100 yards

I dont know about all the good brands or anything, but I get a cataloge in the mail for something called Cheap As Dirt. they have some pretty cool stuff for really really cheap. i found a .22lr in there for 99$ I think it has a 10 round clip and it might also be synthetic, not sure. but i think you can find it at www.cheapasdirt.com I've never bought any of their products so i dont know about quality though.

I have a 597 Remmy. I have never had a problem with jamming. Maybe 4 rounds out of a brick with the lubed lead shells, maybe 3 with the coper jackets. The key is proper lubrication and keping the action clean. I shoot with iron sights on it right now, and can get bobcats out to 100 yds. I've hit them out farther than that, but I don't chase wounded cats, and they won't drop at that range.
As far as plinking is concerned, it is within 1" at 75 yds, and again, that is with iron sights. It is a great .22 for the price. I bought it over a 10/22 because it pointed better for me, and I like the grey syn stock (I know Im weird).
My advice: pick up several and point them, buy the one that is best for you. Good advice for any gun purchase.
