Yes it is good for 200 yds. and it will work for a 300 yds. with no problem. i carry the same gun because of it's weight. i have the ultra light handi-rifle. it weights five pounds. nice little gun and for the price you can not go wrong. i have found that h&r has many models that will shoot the pants of most of the more costly rilfes. try the winchester 45 gr. hollow points varmint loads in your rifle you will be very happy with the outcome. they move at 3600 fps.

Your worried about it reaching out to 200 yrds?? I would be SIGHTING IT IN at 200 yrds and planning to shoot out past 300 yards. It's what those guns are made for amigo.

Great gun for chucks and yotes to 300+ yds . A friend bought 1 for his kid , he is pissed it out shoots his Rem 40X.
The only draw back is that you can only shoot the first yote , if more than 1 come in.
