Best rifle for rabbits/squirrels/fox
Hello!
Ok, I'd like to know which rifle/ammo can I use for rabbits, squirrels and foxes, I"m looking for a really good price also?
I really like cowboy style guns but don't know if a bolt action will be better. In any case what would you suggest me? Also should I use a scope?
Thanks

For rabbits, squirrels, and fox, I don't think you could do much better than a 20 guage shotgun, providing the shots at the fox would be close (less than 30 yards). If not, then I would go to a .22 LR. You said you like cowboy style guns. In this case, Marlin makes a lever action .22. If I were to go with the shotgun, I would look into H&R's 20 guage single shot.
Marlin Model 39A ... http://www.marlinfirearms.com/firear.../Golden39A.htm
And the NEF (H&R) ... http://www.hr1871.com/firearms/index.php?cat=3&subcat=1
BTW I have a Marlin Model 60 and have not had any problems with it, nor have I had any trouble with my H&R .223!

Try a marlin in cal .22 mag, stick with head shots on squirrels and rabbits to keep damage to a minimum. I have taken fox out to 100 yards with my .22 mag, but I try to limit it to around 75.

Try the 17 hmr and use the 20 gr. bullets offered by CCI or Hornady and keep to head shots. A Marlin 917V is $179.00 at Walmart.
Go to www.rimfirecentral.com for more info on the 17 hmr. They are a tight flat shooting gun right out of the box.
