Default A rare visitor....

He's been hanging around the yard several times the last couple weeks. Never seen a ring neck around the house before... We have chickens, he avoids them but doesn't seem bothered by them.

Probably a stocked bird that survived the season and the winter. Love is in the air for pheasants and he is probably looking for a date.

Someday I hope to get out to hunt them in a place that is like that. We rarely see them.

Wish we had some wild pheasant around here where I live in Va. We have very few wild quail anymore and the grouse are gone except up near the mountains. The only birds we have are mourning dove and woodcock. Not enough to keep my GSP busy.

I see grouse fairly often actually. Woodcock also. Lots of Dove. But, Very rarely pheasant.
