Default 22 WMR Ammo

Just wanting to get some advice for hunting larger animals with 22WMR's. My question is, what is the advantage of the soft point's offered by Remington,CCI, Fiocchi and Winchester as opposed to the more common hollow points. All of the above soft-points come in a 40g bullet, CCI and Fiocchi at 1875mv and Rem and Win at 1910mv, if I'm not mistaken. If you trying for deeper penetration it would stand to reason that the soft-points not unlike their big brother deer cartridges would go deeper but maybe not give as much killing power as say a heavier 50g Federal Game Shok hollow point?

Thank you ahead of time for your feedback!

First timer here BTW.....

What do you mean by "larger animals"?

By larger I mean a small pig or a coyote.

I always used the 40 grain solids for everything. A 50 grain could only do it better.
