RE: traps & help
On the reds and greys I try the transition zone near the edge of fields. Just thick bramble. Locally it is japanese privet. Just a thick under brush that grows at the woods edge. Fence lines or overgrown clear cuts are about the same. Just imagine a tangly mess that borders a field.
On the coyotes I like snairs. Those jokers can tear up a good set if in a foot hold. If you investigate enough if there is a pack around you will find a scent post near the center of their terrain. It will be marked with a bunch of scat. There should be several well worn trails in every direction from this point, kind of like a wagon wheel. I set up snairs about 100 yards down each trail and check once a week in winter. The coyotes here take a week or so to make their loop, so I don't check it to often. In my area the scent post is a clear cut area that grew up in sage grass. There is nothing else there but grasses with woods all around. It may be 1/2 acre, not very big, and not really a field.
On the coons, like the other gents said I prefer water. Bobcats, usually open woods. Just the normal area you would want to set up a tree stand for bow hunting. I like ground up shad if there are no kitty cats in the area. I don't like to catch someone's pet.
Blessings
