Slugs and coyotes.

Slugs and coyotes.
Okay. like my last post, im talking about my Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 Gauge. I have a slug barrel for it. and some Winchester Super X Rifled Slugs. Im thinking about putting a Redhead shotgun scope on it. would this be an effective coyote gun? if so, what do you think is the maximum range?

Any 12 gauge slug will effectively drop a coyote with a solid torso hit...
It all depends on the accuracy of your slug gun..With a scope, probably it would be accurate enough to kill a coyote at 75 yards or so... With a shotgun slug, there is plenty of power to KILL a coyote at most any range..The question is how far away can you HIT one with it....
Good luck...

Some states do not allow slugs to be used for coyotes. Other states only allow slugs to be used by a deer hunter with an unfilled tag who shoots a coyote during the shotgun portion of the deerfirearm season. Be sure to check all your applicable game laws.

It definately would work. Like Pygmy said, it all depends on how accurate YOU are. The gun will kill a coyote at nearly any reasonable range. I shot one last year while deer hunting with a 12 gauge slug. It puts a big hole in them, but I don't think the coyote even twitched after I shot it.
