I hunt squirrel deep in the cypress swamps of South Louisiana, and that is my favorite small game animal.

I' m a toss up between rabbits and raccoons, I love going out with the dogs at night and runnin creeks until morning for ringtails (a coon hunters gun always points up ) but I' m REALLY fond of going out into a reed/brush patch with a 12ga coach gun or a .410 for cottontails. In either case I turn in a full bag almost everytime I go out, so I get instant gratification equally from both, the bunnies are a little more hands on harvesting while the coons are more hands on hunting, so I' m a toss up. I' m not as big of fan for yotes as I am these two because I don' t have the success rate with yotes as I do with these and as I said, the hands on part of the hunts is great, beats sitting around IMHO. Not to say that dropping a trotting yote at a quarter mile wasn' t fun, but when my dad, a couple buddies and I are all carrying a brace of coons back to the truck, it don' t get much better.

squirrel and yotes seemed to be tied at 28 votes. i voted squirrel simply becuase i like making headshots on them and they never new i was around. Now with my .17 hmr and a quality scope i might can connect at 100 yards, we' ll see.
