Default Bullet for Coyote and fox

Hey guys i want to do some huntin for coyotes and foxes. Im looking for a good bullet to use in my 25-06. I know its kinda heavy for them but what bullet should i use. And also i dont want it to destroy the fur because i would like to sell it to a furbearer.

I have been loading a few 75 gr Barnes solids for coyotes ,I haven't had a chance to try them on coyotes but that is what they are supposed to be for. They group well on the bench ,with 56 gr of RL-19.

i think no matter what bullet you use the 25-06 is a little excessive if your looking to save pelts.the solids on coyote very well may work good but i think its still going to cut a fox in half.you need to scale back to something like a 223 if your looking to get top dollar for the fur.if the 25-06 is all you have then try the solids or the heavyest bullet in a soft point you can for coyote.fox i would avoid all together with that round.just remember when hunting with fmj's,shot placement is critacal,a coyote can run along ways with a nice, clean round hole in his side.

coyoteseeker out of curiosity what kind of money are you looking at with a coyote pelt .We shoot them but never have bothered doing anything with them . we do it for predator control only because some of the neighbors raise sheep ,I have cattle so its never been a problem for me . As one neighbor said if you lose a few thousand dollars to coyote you just want them dead you don't care how . He uses a 22-250 AI with ballistic tips definitely not coyote pelt friendly .

halcon, the last time i check(a month or so ago)a coyote pelt will bring anywhere from 20 to 35 bucks depending on where in the country it was harvested, red fox 12 to 15 and grays around 8 bucks, deffinetly not alot of money. when it comes to western folks i can fully understand why theres such a problem with the coyote,if and when they become that big a problem here in the east i will leave them for the buzzards to.but untill then i try to save the pelts, not so much to sell them but to do somthing with them.tan them up,give them away, sell some, hang them on the garage wall,as long as i do something with the animal or part of it i feel justified in harvesting it.its just the way i was tought to hunt, use what you harvest.

Coyoteseeker Thanks for the info. I don't want to have to buy a trappers lic to sell them so that is out, but I might dry a couple pelts for the reloading room wall .
