Default Bullets for YOTES??

What would be your most popular bullet for yotes? In the 22-250 and .223? Been shooting 45 gr soft point.
I mean, full jacket, balistic tip, hollow point?
We're wanting the best knock down with minimum hide damage.
We don't "roll our own", so factory loads are it.

I love to blast them with my .300 Win Mag. and a 125 grain bullet at about 3500 fps at the muzzle. When shot from the front they instantly inflate for about one second.

trophy bonded bear claws in a 308 win. do alot less pelt damage then a expanding 22 cal at 223 or 22-250 velocity.

Well for minimum pelt damage, you would want a full metal jacket at a quick pace, they seem to "zip right through." For knockdown power, you'll want something like a soft point that will retain it's mass througout impact. Shoot a slower balistic tip and you have a pretty good combination.

use the .223 for minumal damage. I shoot my 22-250 exclusively for coyotes, I've shot a bunch of them, and I can't recommend a factory load thatwon't make a mess on occasion. Best bet with the 22-250 is frontal chest shots with any bullet. It seems like the 50 gr. soft point through the ribs broadside leave a small hole usually.
I've seen a lot of coyotes shot with the .223, and most had much less damage than any I've seen shot with the 22-250!

I've used the white-box el cheapo Winchesters in my 22-250. They group as well as anything out of my 700...and I've tried win. hornady and remingtons. They are 40 shells for the price of 20. 45gr hollowpoint. (More like crimp-point). Anyways, I've taken two coyotes with them. Both were inside of 100yards and they did the boom-de-floppin without an exit hole. I could see how they may exit at longer ranges after the bullet has more time to bleed off velocity....don't know.

I like Hornady V-max's in my .223. I've never had one exit a coyote, even at close ranges (35-40 yards).

I might just have to have to try and get a new rifle for next year cause i bet my 270 WSM is gonna tear them up unless maybe it was a super long shot or something idk. Im not sue how low of grain bullet 270 wsm goes but if i got a really low grain would it do less damage, maybe not just wrecking it?
