use broadheads, but shoot when they are on the ground. i have at least a 1/2 dozen arrows tipped with broadheads in my woods 25 feet up stuck into trees. i learned my lesson shoot when there are on the ground
buy yourself a squirrel call its like a bark they make and when you hit the call you can hear them answer so you know where they are. or better is find someone with squirrel dogs.

hardcorehunter,
if ya shot that rabbit with a broadhead you would of killed it within a few seconds. i used to bowhunt jack rabbits in california. i seen a rabbit get hit right in the body with a fieldtip and that sucker ran a few hundred yards. i wish i had that on camera the arrow stickin out of it and he was runnin. i seen my dad shoot a cotton tial with his bow and when it struck the rabbit that rabbit died almost instanly. broadheads mess up small game. i shot a bobwhite with my bow last year. with a broadhead about 25 yards. when that arrow hit the quial all the feathers poofed in the air like a shot gun hit. quial died instantly

I used to hunt squirrels with my bow when I was a kid,Around 11 or 12.I used a recurve and a compound and wooden and aluminum arrows.before I knew you could buy blunts I would make them out of a bolt.I would just insert the bolt into the aluminum shaft and tape it with electrical tape.Worked great.I also had a small dog that would stop and point at a squirrel and wait till I shot. Then would go and bark at my arrow when it landed, unless I hit the squirrel then he would go after it and sometimes get bit on the nose.
