Predator help
I just bought a Phantom Game Predator call. I was wanting advice for my first hunt. I will be hunting in an area where coyotes have been spotted. (Wood Co. West Virginia)We will be huntingin one of 4box blinds thats are set up in and along fields. We have a 360' view and have up to a 600 yrs of viewing. I was told to get into the box and let it settle down for 30 minutes then start the rabbit distress call for a few minutes, then wait 20 minutes and try it again. Can anyone help me out with what I should do on my first Coyote hunt. Any/all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RE: Predator help
Always pay close attention to the wind. A lot of times, the coyote will come to the call and circle downwind to approach. Not every coyote does this, but some do. I usually wait a few minutes to let things settle, squeek briefly to lure in anything close, then wait a few minutes and begin with my regular call. I usually keep my bursts to under 15 seconds, wait about five minutes, then repeat, until about 30 minutes has passed. Most coyotes will come in within the first 10 minutes, but every now and then a coyote coming from a long way off or a bobcat manages to wander in. And before you ever start calling, make sure everything is as ready as possible. When things start happening, they happen real fast.
One more word of advice, if you can't geta shot you are comfortable with, pass on the shot. It's a lot easier to call the coyote back in some other time if hasn't been shot at.
