Pentax
I have 2 pentax lightseeker 30 scopes (somewhere around 6-24X, with 50 mm objective lenses.) I also have a pair of their binos in 8X43 DCF SPs.
The binos I shopped extensively and they have been outstanding.
The scopes have performed extremely well and in one case stood up to a serious thunk. My only concern/issue is on the eye piece "o-ring" that protects the outer edge. On most scopes they are smooth and putting on butler creek caps is not a problem. With the fancy scalloped design, they don't like butler creeks and they have a tendency to come loose. I've even lost some in the field. Pentax replaced them but it's a pain. I would not steer away from Pentax, but I would suggest that you secure them with super glue or some other good adhesive.
As far as optical quality, I'd put them above any Simmons, (including the AETEC), comparable to Leupold, and the Elite 4200s.
