.240 WBY MAG INFO NEEDED!!!
.240 WBY MAG INFO NEEDED!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have question concerning my .240 wby mag. I am currently using the 100 grain partition and then switched to the 95 gr Ballistic tip for deer. I am getting good results on the bench and shot a 290lb 8 pt in Michigan last fall and it ran 30 yards.
I am planning a trip to Nebraska next year and was looking at the long range potential of this caliber and also wondering if anyone has used the Barnes XLC 87 gr bullet and if you did what were the results and would you recommmend it for whitetail hunting and what load did you use?
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOOPS!!

RE: .240 WBY MAG INFO NEEDED!!!
Hello, I also have a 240 Wby Mag in the ultra light weight, which I love! Such a light bullet, & it is moving! I do all my own reloading, and here's what I have found...
Using 100 gr Nosler Partition -
IMR 7828 - 53.5 gr, Fed215 Match Primer, loaded case length with be 3.294 & thats moving at 3260 fps
Using 95 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip -
you can use the same as above, with the same speed or
Reloader 22 - 53.0 gr, Fed215 Match Primer, same loaded case length, & moving at 3352 fps
I was also looking into using the scirroco's to see what results I can get from them. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK
