Default 30-06 semi auto ?

I was thinking about reloading for my Semi auto Rem 750 Woodsmaster... If I reload for it. Do I have to full length resize???

Get some small based dies as they will ensure positive chambering fit to reduce jamming........I use them in my Win 100 -.308 Harold

Probably more often than with a bolt-action. But the key is, "will my fired cases EASILY go back into its' chamber before anything is done to them (I mean, brass that you've fired in that specific gun.)

If theywill, then all you have to size is a part of the neck so they will hold the new bullet.

Your gun will answer this question for you! I once had an M1 that DID NOT require full-length resizing of brass that was shot in it...... (Small-base dies may NOT be necessary. I've never had to use a small-base die when reloading for a semi-auto. Regular FL dies have worked well for me in SA's chambered for .308, .30/'06, 7.62X54R and 7.62X39.....)

I myself find my reloads caused my 7400 to go from 3MOA to 1.5MOA. Not bad, I think. I highly suggest you buy a small base FL Die. You might get away with FL only. But I had to go with Small base. Also, I suggest trying IMR4350 with 165gr bullet. Worked great for mine. I tried the fast powders like 4064, and varget and wouldn't cycle correctly.

bigcountry, stop useing the 4350 now before it is too late!, I used it for a while with good acuracy but found it was tearing my 7400 apart. It all started with the primers backing out, extractor was cutting the case headsand eventualy tore a case apart shooting at a 10 point, made a ugly noise, the buc looked at me and walked away with nothing I could do until I got the rifle apart and extracted the remainder of thecase. After re-shapeing the locking lugs on the bolt and cleaning up all the slam marks on the inside of the receiver I have it functioning at 100 percent agan. The problem I found was the 4350 burns way to slow for the gas system of most semi autos, Ive been useing 4895 with good acuracy and it is treating my rifle fine. Mr Longbeard, I havnt met a Remington semi auto that would shoot cases that were not full length resized to date.

Well, it hasn't fell apart in 1000 rounds, I am not too worried about it. Thanks friend, but what kinda powder do you think they use with Federal hi velocity or Winchester elites? Do you really think they use a fast burning powder like 4895 or 4064? Nope.

If you had extractor cuts in your case and primers backing it, it wasn't your powder, you were over pressure IMO. I am getting 10 loads with my 7400 with remington brass, and pockets still tight.
