Found: 300 Win Mag Load
Guys; Just FYI, After many years of 'good' loads out of my Ruger 77 MKII, I was toying with new powders and bullets for a future elk hunt to see how much tweaking I could do. The rifle always did shoot well, even with factory ammo.
Well low and behold I found this rifle's favorite load. Three, 5 shot goups were enough to convince me of that. The weather was perfect 70 degrees, no wind. Average group size for the 3 groups was less than 0.90". And that was because one bulllet was a flyer and enlarged a ragged hole group by printing 1/2" higher making the group 1.2"
The load in case your interested is 60.5 gr of IMR4064, Remington 9 1/2M primer and 180 gr Nosler Accubond bullet.
All cases were FL sized, trimmed, deburred and the final step was using a Lee Factory crimp die.
