What powder and load for 7mm-08?
My dad does my reloading for me and we have been using 45 gr. of IMR 4064 with a 120gr. bullet with decent performance in terms of accuracy and ballistics. I know that this load is above Hornady and Barnes max. load, but so many manuals are written by lawyers and not reloading experts these days. I believe we got this load from Ken Waters book of Pet Loads. I'd like to get everyone else's favorite load with 120gr. bullets for this cartridge and if you use a different bullet weight then what powder do you use. Is there a best powder for this cartridge? Thanks.

I load 41.3gr of IMR 4064 and 139gr Hornady BTSP and it shoots less than 1"@ 100 yards. Also, never had a deer travel more than 20 yards after the shot...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I use H4350 and 50 grs, this is a compressed load and 120 gr Nosler BT,shoots less than 1 in. at 100 in my rem classic.
Use the SSt 139 and 42.5 grs of 4064 and get less than 1 in groups also.

WOLF6151,
I've had excellent results in two different 7mm-08s with H-Varget. Accuracy and velocity were excellent with both Sierra and Nosler bullets. Good luck.
