PAL applications.......
A few years ago when the law came down that you required a possesion and aquasition permit to buy ammunition i decided it was about time that i got mine...So i went to the local post office to pick up my application form. When i was filling out the required information on the form i couldn't help but laugh at some of the questions. "Are you violent?", "Are you abusive to your spouse or others?" Just all kinds of questions to check your past behavior and sanity before giving you the licence. Now lets say i am a total nut case and i want to buy a firearm to commit a crime. So i fill out one of these applications. Do you really think that i will honestly answer these questions? Like cmon if i want to be able to buy a gun i will make things look real good to better my chances. I just thought this was kind of pointless......any comments?

RE: PAL applications.......
I just renewed my PAL and was shocked when it showed up in less than three weeks. The last time it took five months. This time my references were not contacted so the whole reference and question section seemed to be a wast of time.

Yeah I agree, what about the waterfowl stamp/permit questions, always make me giggle[&:].
Did you buy a waterfowl stamp/permit (last year)?
Did you Hunt waterfowl (last year)?[8D]
Stubblejumper, that is amazing! It took me over 6 months to receive my PAL as well a few years back and they did contacted my references. In fact my one of my friends had to get his ex-wife to sign a form a few years back that he was not unstable to get his PAL. IMO that was a little over the top.

SKEETER did you check out the show this weekend at saskplace? if so what did ya figure? I thought it was alright but not enuff hunting equipment in my opinion. Fly in fishing camps don't really intrest me too much but i guess you can't please everyone. Was going to buy a big moose print and a fenwick fishing rod but instead i settled for a couple sticks of sausage and a piece of fudge. I don't even look at the boats on the lower level because i just get depressed........

I work it as SWF member and did again this year. Actually this year there was more hunting stuff then many years previous, less outfitters and more boats. The fact we have very few hunting supply dealers and really the price of the booths it will never be what many of us really would like it to be. Wholesale doesn't bother to attend the event and never has, the past few years SWF has offered them both a discount and premium booth on the main floor and they have said NO! Another reason not support those losers as they don't give back to the area or its sportsman groups. We had a record amount come through the archery demo area, which was nice to see as in the past we usually just sit and shoot by oursleves. I did the same a beef jerky, support the scouts and a coke was all I picked up this year, I didn't think there were as many deals as previous years. I would say it was OK, not great but not the worst either!
The gun show is on this weekend, I really wish they would run these 2 at the same time and location.

Someone did it in a political way. They got charged, but the charges were dropped. Now many others may have done it in such a way that nobody knows, thereby opening themsleves up to the process, but I don't see much point in that.
