Hey rodmax if you are trying to decide, take a good look at http://www.kiskimaastakin.com/, these are good people to hunt with! We are going up next year, reschedualed from this year after the boos went south. I believe they will have a booth in harrisburg PA this year also. We have been very pleased with them over the last 6 years. did not chec where you were from sorry, they should be in hull sportsman show in quebec this year.

Hi moorebam4,
I think Kiss has the best deals up there right now, prices are quite a bit less then Mirage.
We rebooked with Mirage, prices are more but we enjoyed our trip and had no complaints with them so we decided to go back. Looks like we are going to miss each other, but maybe some others on here will be going up at the same time.
Come on guys, let us know if your going in 2010, dates and outfitter.

Just came back from Mirage - all the caribou are in the west end of 22A and west of the James bay highway, from about Km 540 all the way to Radisson. The guy registering caribou said the harvest is down about 50 percent- a tough year ! On the plus side the weather was great -5C to -10C while we were there, although it has dropped back now to more normal.

Hi Kagcamper,

Yes it is a very tough year for Caribou.
Did you see or get any caribou while you were at Mirage.
Did you do any fishing or ptarmigan hunting while you were there.
When we were there in November there were ptarmigan all over.

We saw hundreds on the road up to Radisson, and our group all tagged out after we drove the five hours back to the James Bay highway from the Mirage Lodge.Mirage were trucking their guaranteed hunt guest and their Ski-Doos over to the road also. There were plenty of ptarmigan on the Taiga Road, and we met several groups of natives hunting them. We didn't bother buying licences and didn't take a gun,but could have easily got our limits of them also.
