Are Semi-Autos allowed in canada for hunting

Default Are Semi-Autos allowed in canada for hunting

Am planning a spring bear hunt and would like to bring my browning light weight stalker BAR for the hunt. Any problems????

We get the odd "bad weather" in the spring (well any time of the year) but on your spring bear hunt it should not get that cold as to bother your rifle.

You don't have an "extended capacity clip in it do you? I think there are some clip restrictions.

Yes semiauto is ok here. No problem to bring in. I've been using a 300 & 338 Bar's for years and never had one jam yet even at -30. Only normal clips that hold 3 or 4 shots are allowed.

Maybe! It depends on where you are going to hunt. Ontario doesn't have a spring bearhunt but semi's are ok for hunting. I believe that you can't use them in Newfoundland. but I am not sure. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyway check the regulations in the province or territory you want to hunt in.
