I wasn't successful in taking a bear this year (you may have seen my posts on other sites). But being my first time hunting over bait, I sure had a good time, it won't be my last attempt at it. Already been planning for next year, take more time off, set up my own baits and stands and hopefully put enough time on stand to see lots of bears and get a bruiser. I was curious to know about the two barrels in your pics, do you have two different stands around your baits? Or just use the two barrels at the site?

Cowboy
2 barrels one stand. Put 2 barrels at this site due to time restraints in baiting. figured if I couldnt get back to the baits for a week 2 barrels would tide them over. We had 5 diffrent bears come into the bait. NOT BAD FOR THE FIRST YEAR BAITING. Next year should be even better. The back barrel is 30 yards from my stand, front one is 20 yards. Both with very clear shooting lanes....

But nothing BIG enough for my liking.so there is always fall time.or next spring.

I LEARNED ALOT THIS YEAR. THANKS ALOT TO GUYS LIKE BROCK AND A FEW OTHER FROM VARIOUS SITES.

I think I had more fun baiting and watching what came in then the actucal hunt. here is a pic of my othe site from my treestand 20 ft up

I've been baiting and the bears just started hitting them. unfortunatly I cant go this week-end but I'll be over my bait next week-end for sure!!! We have till end of june to hunt bear in my zone. This is my first year hunting bear aswell and I dont care how big or small it is, if it's a black bear (without cubs) ..... BANG!!!!! anyways, I'm having fun just beeing there anyways

I'll let you know what happens the next time I go.
