Rangefinder&Binoculars or Rangefinding binoculars??
Looking for opinions on my next purchase. I will be hunting mule deer in south eastern utah, and elk in north west colorado this year. I have a wetherby 7mm remington mag, with a leupold 4.5x14 x50 cds dial scope. I am practicing my butt off with it to be able to make the long shot if need be. I have a set of leupold 8x42 rangefinding binoculars which do the job right now but I only seem to be able to get a consistent reading out to the 500 yard range, which is probably my limit for trying to kill an animal anyway, but I'd like to pass them down to a new hunter in my group. So I have kind of a fixed budget (my wife) and have pretty much decided to go with the leupold green ring 12x50's which are $389 at cabelas right now and the leupold rx1000-tbr range finder which is $349. So I'm just about to decide and make my order when a set of bushnell rangefinding binoculars catches my eye and now has me second guessing myself. So now im looking to you guys for your opinions on what you would rather have, rangefinder and binoculars, or rangefinding binoculars. $1000 would be the absolute top of my budget. Thanks in advance, Mike
By the way......I love leupold

Rangefinding binoculars are the way of the future IMO.
Far better than scopes with built in rangefinders IMO - no one wants to see someone looking at them across a field through a scope.
One day once technology catches up with what is reasonably priced for me (+/- $600).
