I heard that a new re-designed Nikon Monarch line is coming out this summer.

I too would also like to hear about the BDC reticle. Has anyone owned or used one. If so, did you like it? Would you buy another? Thanks in advance.

Yes. In my opinion the Nikon Monarch is the best scope you can buy that is in this price range. I love the ones that I have. They are clearer than the Leupold VXIII and cheaper.

I hope I like it because I went ahead and orderd a 6.5x16.5x44 Monarch with the BDC reticle. Got a good price through SWFA, $302. Original price was 4 something.

Good luck on getting it. I ordered the exact scope from them, and never recieved it in 2 months. I canceled the order and ordered from Nachez. Got it in 3 days.

As far as the BDC. I am not sure I like mine. The way you got to use it is adjust the power to match the distance. In other words, you might put it to 12 power for 500 yards but 13.5 power for 400 yards for instance. I would rather have mildot.

I ordered a Monarch in 3x9x40 from SWFA on Monday and UPS has it scheduled to drop it off tomorrow. 3 days is not bad for a Monarch that costs $230 shipped. Hopefully it will work better on my sons New England Arms .243 which currently has a useless Tasco that lost its zero after 6 months.
