SPOTTING SCOPE HELP
I am looking for a new spotting scope for use at the range. I will be shooting at 200 and 300 yards with 7mm and 22-250. I currently have a Simmons Presidential spotting scope in 20 power but cannot see holes at these distances easily. I am looking at a 15-45x socpe and have looked at the Leupold and Burris models. I would like to stay around $300.00 or less if possible. Can anyone give me suggestions or recommendations??
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: SPOTTING SCOPE HELP
I have the Leupold 15-45 x 60 mm Sequoia spotting scope and tested it a couple years ago and have found that the 15x works well up to 200 yards looking at groups shot with a 22. At 250 yards, 7 mm and 338 groups were not clear at 45x but I could see them better with 15x. At 300 yards I couldn’t make out either the 7 mm or .338 groups. The groups were blurred in both 15 and 45x. In all, I found it best to use the spotting scope at lower power. I also have the Burris Landmark 15-45 x 60 mm and although I haven’t tested this scope, I prefer the optics and construction on my Leupold. I would suggest to spend a little more and get a better quality spotting scope for distance out to 300 yards. If you have the opportunity, take a look at the Bushnell Elite series. The optics seams to be pretty good. Good luck and welcome aboard...
