Missing the Point on Martin Add

RE: Missing the Point on Martin Add
I see no problem whatsoever with this ad.
Seriously, I do agree that they are using sex appeal in order to make folks take a second look at this ad. However, I think it was done tastefully and can imagine a much " worse" picture if they needed just to rely on a pretty young woman to sell their bows....

RE: Missing the Point on Martin Add
I wonder if women are offended by this ad and men are the ones who think it is ok?
In my humble opinion as a woman, I see it 2 ways - the first thing that caught my eye was the woman, but that may be due to all of the discussion around her. Then I looked at the words - " Choose your partner wisely." Bingo! Martin is implying sex with the pretty girl and the words. It reminds me of those tasteless car ads with the half naked girl across the hood of the car, trying to take up the entire picture.
The other way I see it, is by using this model, Martin is turning their backs on the fastest growing population of archery - women. Do they think women will be intrigued to buy a Martin bow with this ad? I wasn' t. Now, put a heavily muscled handsome man in the same pose, I might put it up in my gun/ archery room.
The bottom line is buying a bow is like buying a car - everyone has their own opinion on what is best. That' s why I shoot a Hoyt. Ads are designed to attract people of certain opinions.
