Why was the IBO world shoot changed from the first weekend in August as it normally is to the middle of August? This will prevent a lot of shooters from making the trip due to schools starting back the second week of August especially with it going to a Thursday, Friday and Saturday schedule. Why could it not be scheduled for August 1st, 2nd and 3rd?

If you go to the ASA website they list the Classicas being held August 8-10, if IBO changed the IBO World from August 1-3 don't blame the ASA.

Then they would have to contend with the mess from the Brickyard 400 in Indy, it was the last weekend of July this year...

If you type in "2008 Nascar schedule" in your search engine in quotation marks you can find out that the Brickyard is going to be held on July 27th which is the week before the first weekend in August just as it was this year. The first weekend in August would still be open and be a much better weekend for the youth of our sport and us parents as well. Many of the schools will be starting the second week of August and you can't have children missing the opening days of school. I don't see why at this early stage that it can't be changed back to it's original weekend on August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This will help a lot of us make it to the worlds. I have made it to the last 5 and would love to make it to the worlds in 2008 but not if it is in the middle of August when my kids are just starting back to school...

Sorry, I was thinking that the weekend of the 8th was the first full weekend of August and normally that would have been our date.
The ASA sent us their dates earlier this past summerand that was the one they picked, not blaming anyone, just giving the facts. The August 15-17 was our only choice for 2008. The third Leg of the Triple Crown had to be move to a week later because of the 4th and that would have left only 3 weeks between.

I still don't see why it can not be moved back to the first weekend of August.Three weeks between Nelsonville and world would only affect those that had to have that shoot to hopefully qualify for an invitation to world. Moving the world shoot back to the third weekend of August affects a lot of us that have children in school and are planning on this trip for our vacation. I still believe that with almost a year to plan for it that it can be moved back to the first weekend in August for the greater benefit to the majority of IBO shooters.
