RE: CLASSES FOR IBO?
The original post mentions using different classes in MBO & HC similar to how ASA does it. Here are the winning scores in the threeopen classes at the ASA Classic: Open A- 422 , Open B-426 , Open C- 422 . I'm not sure if they shot the same courses, but I can't imagine the difficulty would be that much different. My point is that the guys at the top of each class could probably all beat one another on any given day and this will never change from year to year. I believe that if you normally finish mid- pack in MBO, then you will finish mid-pack in HC, MBR, MHC, etc. The same goes if there were an MBO-A , MBO-B , and MBO-C. If the guys in the "C" classes think that every thing will be better next year when the top dogs move to "B" class, think again. Somebody will be there to take their place and shoot that seemingly unattainable 422.The only way to get to the top is good old fashioned hard work. It takes alot of time to be that good and I've come to the conclusion that with three kids I don't have the time. But I'm still good enough to kill a deer and thank the Lord it is almost that time of year. I guess I'm done rambling now.

RE: CLASSES FOR IBO?
ewolf,
take five people that are shooting 400 or better in one class and make them move to another class, what happens to the bottom and the middle of the class that your moving them to? How many friends are you going to make in that class. If you are going to move people from one class to another against their will what makes you think that these people will even stay in the game? Personaly if you are going to take away my ability to choose where I am going to compete I will find another game.
Holes in the eleven ring are put there by people who paid to shoot. The eleven ring being worn out is being worn out by people that have paid for that privelage.
This same argument has been made many times but there is no easy answer to any of the questions that some people haave.
If one class has the majority of the shooters, what needs to be done is look for a way to make the other classes more appealing to all the archers whether they are new to the sport or people that have been shooting for some time.
Your opinion and suggestions just like mine are good attemps to help improve the present system and attract more archers.
