I wish they would control it with tags BT but I don't see that happening.Maybe the high tech method DCNR is using will open some eyes.Until they get this deer management program tweeked I just don't think the few deer left in some areas of the state could handle the added pressure.
As for private land we both agree that a person should have permission but many don't and just hunt on somebody elses land. That's why I said we need better enforcement on tresspassing.

The idea of permission slips would be a pain in the tail but PA hunters need to get away from the attitude that it's OK to hunt anywhere they please as long as they dont see signs to the contrary.

In my opinion, I don't think a required permission slip is going to stop a would -be trespasser from trespassing. It would be just 1 more thing to fill out and pay for.

I don't object to having one, I just don't think making it mandatory makes sense. People are still going to trespass. If my local farmer and/or land owner wants me to carry one fine, I will be more than happy too.

Poaching is illegal, but it's still done, right?

Depends on what exactly you mean Jim.

If you wanted to require written permission to hunt on your property, I'd have no objection.

On the other hand, if you mean we should have a law that singles out only hunters as a class of citizens and makes them into criminals without treating all other trespassers equally, I'd certainly object.
