I live just west of Clayton. I've seen some does and just a couple of average size bucks. The wife had a decent buck cross in front of her car going to work the other morning just outside of town. We need some cooler weather.

Well, sat out for over 3 hours this morning and saw zip. Very unusual. I think the deer may be hangimg out 24/7 in the standing corn. Its thick and they're not being pressured so why travel in this heat?
lemond, i've been out twice now and have heard 1 mosquito buzz in my ear. I do spary my face mask and hat with No Stinkin Bugs which has proven to be pretty potent stuff, but I usually see and hear more of the blood suckers. I think the dry weather may have kept the numbers down this year. I guess there is a good side to everything.
I'll be out the next few weekends and will keep updating.
Anybody else seeing anything?

Was out and set up by 4:50am. Around 5:05am I'm pretty sure two walked by. I couldnt see a thing it was so dark but it sounded like one walked directly under the stand. Besides from that, All I saw were squirrels. The deer have to be staying in the standing corn. Until the corn is cut, I may have to find another area to hunt. We'll see what happens next week. Anyone else having better luck?
