Maybe its the price of our gear that makes this a rich man's game...no cheap bows in that list!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Lemond33, I had a set-up similar to yours near PrimeHook Reguge in Sussex County. At the time, the Refuge was off limits and the giant bucks that paraded past were awe inspiring!! I checked a couple other water holes this weekend and yes there stilling coming in. Water's drying with passing day, though, and many could be shut-off soon. An additional FYI, the acorns are actually fairely heavy this year. Many tress are dropping now...about 3-4 weeks early. Explains whey few deer may be out and about!!!

I hope they start coming out to Nanticoke to enforce. I havent seen &quot;the man&quot; there in a long time. They have let people come in there with 4 wheelers who have torn things up. And last year I know more than 6 people were conducting a deer drive, shooting all over the place, drinking beer, throwing their cans wherever they wanted.
I hope the new tagging system works. I know some &quot;trophy&quot; hunters will buy the extra tags and shoot their bucks and leave the does alone. Im hoping I can shoot one doe and one buck during bow season and save the quality buck for the first day of shotgun. Sounds good doesnt it??

I shoot a Bear Vapor 300, Muzzy broadheads, PSE carbons, Trophy Taker Flatliner sight, Whisker Biscuit rest, peep , ultranock , and T.R.U. Ball release.

Last night i went out again to a different area of Nanticoke and in my travels i spoked two deer, I saw the white flags I couldnt tell if they were bucks or does. I was back in some thicker stuff, looking for water that would run up in this branch, but it was dry. I also had the crap scared out of me when I dirturbed a Turkey that was roosting in a tree. The power of their wings during take-off WOW.
I decided to hunt the thicker area enven though it had less trails being used. This puts me in the middle of food and water. We shall see.

I'm shooting a 58lb Buck saber with 27&quot; carbon express cx200 with Muzzy's and Shockwaves.
Hey coolerpup, I'll see you down Nanticoke, what do you drive? I'll be there 9/2, maybe 9/3, depending on what I see. Haven't seen any goodd bucks down there either, the past year or two. Hutnign pressure getting worse and worse every year. Too many guys walking around, can't sit still.

Should still be some water in the Nanticoke or in Broadcreek. There's are alot of little drainages that feed into both those waterbodies. A friend was fishing the Nanticoke near the mouth of Broadcreek last Thursday and told me he saw two decent bucks. He doesn't deer hunt, but he thought they were good one's. That's part of the WMA, correct?

6ptSika, did ever lay eyes on the big one you were chasing over in Maryland? Still moving down this way?

Yeah, I saw him twice about a month ago, big as ever, he's gonna be a hoss this year. I'll be set up on him opening day, that's for sure. You can only see a little section of the field he likes from the road, so hopefully the poachers will miss him. I was down hanging a couple stands this past weekend, and planned on seeing if he was coming out the same place, but the boys in the club got a bushel, and we both know what goes well with crabs, but not so well with driving around looking at deer, LOL.
Still moving down that way, definitely, but haven't found anything decent yet, and it looks like I might have to ride this economy out. Every day in Jersey makes me love the Eastern Shore more.

6pt.....I drive a Maroon Dodge p/u with a cooler rack on the front.
Ill be there 9/2 for sure. I havent seen the bucks this year, but i have a good idea where they are.
When you first enter the woods from Phillips, it has been torn up by 4 wheelers on just about any trail you take. Ive seen good sign further back. If I dont see anything from my morning stand, I have two others picked out for the evening. But you know how that goes. Deer will be all over my evening stands in the morning and vice versa.
What do you drive?? Ill look for ya.

I hope to make it over to Midlands this year to scout. I might hit there first day of Muzzleloader.

Midlands is pretty good. In fact, that whole area around Carey's Camp is pretty good. Ever tried over near Old Furnace? When I was younger, that area put out some of the better bucks in the area,

I see we frequent the same fishing site coolerpup, we both listed DE bow in our things to look forward to.
You fellas get that rain down there last night, we had a couple of hours of pretty heavy downpour? Well needed.
